Marissa is a clinical exercise physiologist who has been working at Heart Care Canada since 2021. She completed her undergraduate studies at Western University in Health Sciences and Psychology. Upon graduating, Marissa completed her post-graduate studies at Niagara College studying Exercise Science for Health and Performance. She is in good standing with the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiologists (CSEP).
At Heart Care Canada, Marissa works in the cardiac rehab program where she oversees all patients enrolled in the active and maintenance phase of cardiac rehab. This includes conducting baseline assessments, designing personalized exercise programs, monitoring vitals and supervising patients during exercise, in addition to supporting patients as they achieve their health goals. Recently, Marissa has expanded the cardiac rehab program to include patients dealing with symptoms of Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. Furthermore, Marissa works in the clinic conducting stress testing, performing resting ECGs and holter monitoring.
Outside of the clinic, Marissa enjoys playing and coaching volleyball. As a former varsity athlete, she enjoys working with youth athletes.
